My style transcend any trend in fashion regardless of switched fits Labels put the cost on doing 360 flips But a thousand generations walk in sync with my steps They position a pick six I’ll run away with a check This the return of the best but it’s also my introduction I Spielberg production and John Williams the budget just to settle the score So you don’t want it with me I’ll could kill them, die, and keep killing them posthumously No bhavachakra lesson needed It’s universal fact Soldiers didn’t give their all so I could give you my half It’s natural I surpass every dream that my parents had Can’t imagine all the ways that my children will get the bag Yeah Welcome to the Information Age You could believe what you want but don’t ever let the station change Product of propaganda Born in the USA Peace to the paradigm Please read the news today

Hit a road block but I’m cruising now Learn from the game I took the student route That’s why it take so long to put music out Handle every thing I do with care like a new child Had some insecurities I used to act on Tried to wear the wrong shoes and lost traction Got back up running now I’m on a new coast in a new suit red thread like saffron I’m a long way from 42nd See back when Cudi was in 10 Deep I was having dreams about the place that I’m in now I guess God had a plan for the frenzy He let me bypass a lot of jake shit in my past Humble brag but I’ve seen angels lose wings for the bag Pawning halos for cash in a world gone mad I’m tryna do more than just sit back Yeah Don’t know if this is for life Don’t know if this is for life Don’t know if this is for life but it’s for real Don’t know if this is for life Don’t know if this is for life Don’t know if this is for life but it’s for real Sapphire baby Avoid absolutes chase maybes All that Uncertainty surfacing certainly can move you to retrograde like mercury But progress don’t come without unease I was stepping on stages with doubt on me Used to pay uh Now I make all house fees It’s not much but getting asked is all I need so Ain’t it peculiar Le Corbusier chair to sit in prayer I disappear completely Strobe lights blown speakers reaching Way past the amount considered peaking Alone now loud as a sold out show crowd The organized noise of an outcast’s mind Bits and pieces make a lovely design The best part is it’s one of kind All mine Don’t know if this is for life Don’t know if this is for life Don’t know if this is for life but it’s for real Don’t know if this is for life Don’t know if this is for life Don’t know if this is for life but it’s for real I don’t Know if this is For life or for me Gotta be free
Oh yeah Be free Don’t know if this is for my life Sometimes it can be cold outside And you know that you know Yeah I don’t know Don’t know if this is for life But life ain’t free Got to trust in-between No this is for life

Hands holding up a lie You’ve been living in a fog Moss growing on this side now you switching Dollar signs in your eyes block the vision yeah Control desires let your pride be diminished Don’t you try to hide past distance To grow honestly we got to try for forgiveness Best to probably be wise to the difference Keep it authentic No gimmicks Broke system Learn to listen and unlearn what’s been given The ground shifted No longer bound to position It might take a few shots before you hitting But weaponize the mind and you’ll never run out of ammunition It took a lifetime to see it takes a lifetime I spit it for the cause of a culture thats been my lifeline So many nights siphoning truth out from frequencies They fed us false knowledge in the classrooms frequently Forget the lesson if approach is unilateral Worked to keep us docile instead of being actual I’m not a theorist I’m just artist I rap great You want to get heady Go reddit thread with the dead weights Yeah I’m giving no time to those spending no time I got family bovine from smoke back in ’09 Ask God to push for change in your own life Stop viewing everything with closed eyes Yeah Hands holding up a lie You’ve been living in a fog Moss growing on this side now you switching Dollar signs in your eyes block the vision yeah Control desires let your pride be diminished Don’t you try to hide past distance To grow honestly we got to try for forgiveness Best to probably be wise to the difference Keep it authentic No gimmicks

about

Dave Zup’s Vignettes is more than just a collection of songs. It is an exercise in self-awareness that showcases the Cleveland artist’s growth as a songwriter and producer. Although the project’s length is just 15 minutes, Vignettes is packed with live instrumentation and unique samples that provide a vivid listening experience.

Inspired by iconic creatives ranging from Madlib to John Williams, Zup worked with a small group of trusted musicians to craft a record that boasts plenty of texture and cinematic feel without overstaying its welcome or feeling too avant-garde.

The collaborative nature of the project also bred featured appearances from Tripp Fontane, Joey Aich, Sarob, and Elijah Banks. Each artist contributes to Vignettes’ cypher-like energy by delivering introspective verses that explore topics such as faith and love.

If there is one thing to take away from Vignettes, it is that Dave Zup continues to transcend any trend in fashion by relying on his individuality and instinct.
